Commemorating Thileepan: Contrasting press coverage

September 26, 2025, marked the 38th anniversary of the passing of Rasaiah Parthipan (alias Thileepan) following a hunger strike in 1987. Privately-owned Sinhala newspaper Divaina and Tamil newspaper Thamilan featured contrasting portrayals of Thileepan.
