Context: Following President Anura Kumara Dissanayake’s visit to the North to participate in the Thai Pongal celebrations, photos circulated on social media of him supposedly jogging on the streets of Jaffna.

Top left: Some travel to Jaffna to observe sil, without going to the nearest temple 

Top right: Still others come to Kataragama to pay homage to the gods, without going to the nearest kovil 

Bottom left: Then there are others who buy tickets and travel to Mecca even though there is a mosque in town
