Commencement of excavations in Kurukkalmadam, Batticaloa
On March 30, the first phase of the excavations at Kurukkalmadam in Batticaloa, a site suspected to be a mass grave, commenced. The commencement of the excavation was covered by four Tamil TV channels in their primetime news telecasts. By contrast, it was not afforded any coverage in the primetime news telecasts of the Sinhala TV channels.
