The UNHRC resolution promoting accountability and reconciliation: “On” or “against” Sri Lanka?
The UNHRC recently adopted a resolution titled “Promoting reconciliation, accountability and human rights in Sri Lanka” without a vote. The front page headings of Tamil newspapers Thinakaran and Thinakkural referred to it as a resolution “on Sri Lanka”, while the front page headings of Sinhala newspapers Lankadeepa and Mawbima referred to it as a resolution “against Sri Lanka”.
