The ones who opposed the government,

Row 2: Later, they died suddenly in mysterious ways
Row 3: And now, they are dying by suicide at a rate

News report: The fingerprints have faded away on the pistol through which CD [Wickramaratne] was shot
Now screening: Slashing the arteries – PART 02 “The fingerprints have faded away”

Context: The reference to the arteries is related to the recent death of former Assistant Director of the External Resources Department of the Ministry of Finance Ranga Rajapaksha

Context: The meme highlights the “haha” reactions received by posts about the Chemmani mass grave site. Such posts continue to generate sharply divided responses, with comments and reactions reflecting deep social and political polarisation.

Context: The meme portrays the death of former Inspector General of Police (IGP) C.D. Wickramaratne, initially suspected to be a suicide, as having been orchestrated by political actors who feared what he might reveal. Within some sections of the Tamil polity, such deaths are at times framed as suspicious or politically engineered due to the perceived influence of powerful political actors and networks from the past.

Top: Australian: “If you dig our land, there is a lot of valuable gold.”

Bottom: Jaffnese (a colloquial term referring to an individual from Jaffna): “Here, there are many priceless human lives.”

Context: The meme refers to the Chemmani mass grave and the skeletal remains discovered at the site. As of 23 July, 471 sets of skeletal remains had been discovered at the site.
