Kanniya: Conservation of an old stupa or the construction of a new structure?

Reporting on construction initiated at a contested site in Kanniya, Trincomalee, privately-owned Sinhala newspaper Aruna referred to the construction as the conservation of an old stupa, while state-owned Tamil newspaper Thinakaran reported it as the construction of a new structure.
