Protest seeking an international probe into Chemmani mass grave
On September 13, a protest was held in Jaffna calling for an international investigation into the Chemmani mass grave, where 583 sets of human skeletal remains have been recovered. Protesters also called for the excavation and forensic analysis of the site to be placed under UN responsibility. Only privately-owned Tamil TV channels Dan News, IBC Tamil and Shakthi TV covered the protest in their primetime news telecasts.
